Rachel Zisook is a Managing Risk Assessment Scientist with over 14 years of experience in exposure assessment, industrial hygiene, human health risk assessment, and environmental data analysis. She is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Registered Specialist in Exposure Decision Analysis. Her practice has involved characterizing exposure and health risk to workers, consumers, and communities from a variety of chemical, physical, and biological hazards, such as acids, acrylates, active pharmaceutical ingredients, asbestos, benzene, diacetyl, endotoxin, fiberglass, formaldehyde, glycol ethers, glyphosate, hexavalent chromium, hydrogen peroxide, lead, mercury, mixed metal oxides, mold, noise, non-ionizing radiation, quaternary ammonium compounds, SARS-CoV-2, silica, terpenes, volatile organic compounds, wildfire smoke, and wood dust. Ms. Zisook is experienced in designing/executing occupational exposure surveys, exposure reconstruction analyses, simulation studies, indoor air quality assessments, risk prioritization tools, and risk communication strategies, and in developing/evaluating occupational health and safety programs and occupational exposure limits. Additionally, she has assessed the responsibilities of employers, distributors, and manufacturers to comply with occupational health and safety-specific regulatory requirements, including those promulgated by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), California OSHA (Cal/OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (e.g., Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)), and California’s Office of Environmental Hazard Assessment (OEHHA). Ms. Zisook has advised clients affiliated with a wide range of industries, such as the automotive chemical, distribution, education, energy, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and technology sectors. She is active in the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and has served multiple terms on the Executive Committee of the AIHA Northern California Section.
