Job Description
Insight Exposure & Risk Sciences is seeking highly motivated candidates for full-time Exposure & Risk Assessment Scientist positions, at the early-career consultant level. Candidates should have a desire to contribute to a fast-paced environment on diverse and multidisciplinary projects. Early-career consultants will have opportunities to work closely with experienced scientists across disciplines, develop technical expertise, and take on increasing responsibility as they progress.
General Responsibilities
Conduct scientific and regulatory literature reviews and research
Review, synthesize, and summarize scientific and project documents
Assist with exposure assessments, risk assessments, and other quantitative scientific analyses
Perform data management, analysis, and interpretation
Contribute to technical reports, client deliverables, scientific publications, and presentations
Support a diverse network of project teams and experts within the company
Meet assignment deadlines and manage personal workload across diverse project teams
Support internal company business and/or technical initiatives
Participate in infrequent field sampling/data collection, project travel, and conferences
Model and promote company values, which focus on professionalism; collaboration; diversity of people, thoughts, and ideas; integrity; and scientific curiosity and innovation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with a focus in one or more of the following disciplines:
Exposure or Risk Sciences
Industrial Hygiene
Environmental Sciences
Occupational & Environmental Health
Epidemiology
Toxicology
Similar training/experience with a quantitative science or engineering emphasis
Excellent research and technical writing skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong time management skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with dynamic deadlines
Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects and teams
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on diverse teams
Ability to quickly learn, synthesize, and present scientific information
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
Scientific research experience (educational or professional) required
Locations
This position is based in our Boulder, Colorado office. We generally expect early-career consultants to work in person to support collaboration, mentorship, and professional development.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Salary Range & Benefits
$65,000-$90,000, annually

Job Description
Insight Exposure & Risk Sciences is seeking highly motivated candidates for full-time Exposure & Risk Assessment Scientist positions, at the mid- to advanced-career consultant level. Candidates should have a desire to contribute to a fast-paced environment on diverse and multidisciplinary projects. Mid- to advanced-career consultants will have opportunities to lead complex scientific projects, provide technical guidance to clients and project teams, mentor junior scientists, and contribute to the continued growth and development of the company.
General Responsibilities
Conduct and lead independent and collaborative scientific and regulatory research, literature reviews, and technical analysis
Lead or manage projects, including oversight of scope, budget, timeline, staffing, client communication and management, and technical quality. Projects may include:
Exposure and risk assessments
Literature review and synthesis
Field research
Peer-reviewed publications and other technical publications
Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise in areas of professional expertise
Lead the development and execution of high-quality client deliverables
Develop and submit project proposals, research proposals, and/or grant applications
Present research at conferences and other scientific forums and contribute to peer-reviewed and other technical publications
Participate in occasional field sampling/data collection, project travel, and conferences
Mentor and/or train other staff in areas of professional expertise
Opportunities to supervise and manage staff may be available based on experience and tenure
Support or lead internal company business and/or technical initiatives
Model and promote company values, which focus on professionalism; collaboration; diversity of people, thoughts, and ideas; integrity; and scientific curiosity and innovation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree, with a focus in one or more of the following disciplines:
Risk Assessment
Exposure Assessment
Industrial Hygiene
Environmental Sciences
Occupational & Environmental Health
Epidemiology
Similar training/experience with a quantitative science or engineering emphasis
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional research experience required
Relevant consulting experience and/or project management experience preferred
Excellent research and technical writing skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong time management skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with dynamic deadlines
Ability to quickly learn and synthesize scientific information in a fast-paced work environment
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
Locations
Work opportunities are available in our physical office located in Boulder, Colorado. Additionally, remote work arrangements in the U.S. will be considered.
