Kimberly Anderson, PhD, is an exposure scientist and industrial hygienist with over a decade of experience in occupational and environmental health research, exposure assessment and applied risk evaluation. She specializes in designing and leading complex field studies, analyzing direct-reading and time-integrated exposure data, computational fluid dynamics modeling, and translating scientific findings into actionable insights for risk management and control strategies.
Prior to joining Insight, Dr. Anderson served as a Research Industrial Hygienist at the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), where her work focused on characterizing chemical and particle exposures in diverse occupational settings, evaluating ventilation and engineering controls, and advancing quantitative exposure modeling approaches. Her technical expertise includes computational fluid dynamics modeling, Bayesian hierarchical modeling, and ventilation and engineering control evaluation and design. She holds a PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health with a focus on Industrial Hygiene from the University of Iowa. Prior to working at NIOSH, she spent four years as an Assistant Professor teaching graduate level courses in industrial hygiene.
