Kate Wimmer is an Assistant Risk Assessment Scientist at Insight Exposure and Risk Sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Science in Global Health, and a Certificate in Sustainability from the University of Wisconsin. In May 2026, she earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health from the Colorado School of Public Health.
Kate’s academic and professional training focuses on human health and environmental risk assessment, with expertise in risk communication, spatial analysis using ArcGIS, community epidemiology, and toxicology. Her professional experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where she contributed to epidemiology studies examining tobacco, marijuana, and e-cigarette use in Colorado and associated health outcomes. She has also worked as an Environmental Health Scientist Intern with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in the Toxicology and Environmental Epidemiology Office where she supported risk assessments, conducted toxicological evaluations, and contributed to risk communication initiatives.
